The New York State Outdoor Education Association hosted its 57th Annual Conference at the Sharpe Reservation, bringing together educators and environmental advocates from across the country. Dr. Diana K. Williams, Executive Director of the Environmental Leaders of Color, delivered the keynote address to more than 200 participants. “Environmental education is not only about the outdoors — it’s about opportunity, access, and belonging,” Dr. Williams shared. Attendees participated in workshops, professional development sessions, and field-based learning experiences. Representatives from the Fresh Air Fund provided updates on their initiatives offering outdoor experiences to children from New York City. Participants left inspired to bring inclusive practices back to their schools and communities.
